Great question. Our unique pest control program begins with a comprehensive initial pest control service. The initial pest control service includes a full interior treatment to gain control of any existing pest problems. The trained and licensed technician will make sure to inspect and address common pest population areas around entryways, trashcans, sinks and toilets as well as check the attic for any potential rodent activity. We then turn our attention outside where pests live and breed. The regularly scheduled exterior service maintains the barrier around your home that attacks pests before they come inside.

What if I still have a problem inside my home after the outside has been serviced?

Where are these bugs coming from? I keep a clean house.

Sometimes it’s tough to remember that the bugs aren’t doing this just to drive us crazy. Most bugs only come inside when the outside becomes less hospitable. For example, during the summer, the heat dries up the ground and forces ants inside to search for new sources of moisture. In the winter, rats and mice find that many of their preferred food sources are hibernating. The cold sends many rodents inside to search for food and warmth.

How often should I have my Pest Control service?

Depending on the particular situation, we recommend having regularly scheduled intervals of three months or less. However, shorter or longer periods may be recommended, according to specific situations.

Regular pest control service does not include fire ants (beyond 10’ of the structure), fleas, ticks, bed bugs, or any type of wood destroying insect- such as carpenter ants, carpenter bees, termites, or powder post beetles.

I’ve heard that silverfish are extremely difficult to control. Is this true? If so, what should I do?

Good question! Silverfish are difficult to eliminate, but not because they are resistant to treatments. Instead, they often hide deep within walls or attics, where treatments are difficult to apply. Can you tell me how to rid my home of fruit flies?

The small, brown, red-eyed fruit fly is usually carried inside homes in fresh fruits and vegetables, most often bananas. The items in which the flies are breeding must be found and discarded in the outdoor trash. I am being treated for bed bugs; what preparations must I do in advance of the bed bug appointment?

Nothing! On the initial bed bug consultation, a trained Astro Exterminating technician will inspect to identify and locate the bed bug infestation. The process of moving furniture, clothing and bedding can relocate and further the bed bug problem. After proper identification, the technician will give you proper instructions to get ready for the bed bug treatment.

Will Astro Exterminating treat for fleas?

You bet we do! Because fleas can reproduce so fast, are so hard to see and are nearly impossible to eliminate, you need our help to get rid of fleas. Give us a call right away if you suspect a flea infestation.

What should I do to prepare for a flea treatment at my home?

It’s easy. Please have all of your animals treated for fleas by a veterinarian as close to the appointment date as possible. Right before our technician arrives, please vacuum all carpets and make sure to throw away the vacuum bag. Astro Exterminating will take care of the rest!
